Product Overview
The SHG-2A is the high torque version of the SHF-2A silk hat component gear set. Available in 10 sizes from 14 to 65mm with reduction ratios 50:1 to 160:1, the SHG offers peak torques from 23 to 6,175 Nm. Made up of just 3 simple parts for direct machine integration.
The SHG-2A is a precision component set intended for OEM integration where the surrounding housing, motor, and support structure are designed directly into the host machine.
OEM Component Integration
Harmonic Drive component sets provide the core strain wave gear elements for direct integration into OEM machine designs. The components integrate directly into the host structure, eliminating a separate gearbox housing and reducing system mass and axial length.
Wave Generator
Elliptical cam assembly — the input element that creates the strain wave motion.

Thin-walled flexible steel cup or hat — the output element with slightly fewer teeth.
Circular Spline
Rigid ring gear — the fixed element that establishes the gear ratio through tooth count difference.
Zero Backlash
Tooth engagement across the full mesh arc eliminates backlash inherently.
Direct Integration
Components integrate into the host structure without a separate gearbox housing.
Minimum Mass
No housing reduces system weight and shortens axial length compared to housed units.
